STEAM - LEGO Robotic Insects

10:00-12:00

Back to Calendar

Let’s build robotic bugs! Using LEGO WeDo kits, we will step-by-step build a variety of insects including a praying mantis and Venus flytrap and bring them to life by computer coding their movements on tablets that communicate to a robotic motor through Bluetooth signal. Use mechanical concepts such as gears, pulleys, wheels, axels, hinge actions, and flywheels and coding to expand the speed range of the insects’ movements. End the week with a make-and-take-home LEGO insect model.
