Joint Recreation Board

The Ottawa Hills Joint Recreation Board was created in March, 2009 by the Council of the Village of Ottawa Hills and the Ottawa Hills Board of Education to coordinate the community’s recreational use of Village and Board of Education properties and to develop the policies and procedures for community recreation programming and facilities use that will “maintain the highest quality recreational programs, activities and facilities” for all the residents of Ottawa Hills.

The Ottawa Hills Joint Recreation Board (OHJRB) was formed under Section 755.14(B)(1) of the Ohio Revised Code and consists of seven members. The mayor appoints one Village Council member and three community members who are approved by Village Council; and the school board president appoints one Board of Education member and two community members who are approved by the Board of Education.

The Joint Recreation Board meets quarterly, on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, at 8:00 a.m. at the Jean W. Youngen Municipal Building. Additional meetings are scheduled on an as needed basis.
