Ottawa Hills High School was among the top public high schools in the nation according to a June 15, 2010 article in Newsweek magazine . The article was titled “America’s Best High Schools”. Public schools were ranked based on a ratio of advanced placement testing and the schools listed are ranked in the top 5% of all high schools measured in this manner. Ottawa Hills has qualified for this prestigious list every year since 1998.
Ottawa Hills Schools are ranked second in Ohio for the 2008-2009 academic year based on state performance tests, and were ranked first in the state in 2007-2008. This ranking is a measure of several factors including academic excellence as demonstrated by participation in accelerated programs, advanced placement course offerings and enrollment, overall proficiency test performance, attendance and graduation rate.
Ottawa Hills School District has been rated “Excellent” by the State of Ohio for the ninth consecutive year, achieving a rating of “Excellent with Distinction” each year since this rating was established.
