OHES Run Club (Grades 4-6)

The OHES Run Club program is designed to introduce running as a fun sport that promotes a healthy and fit lifestyle. The program will focus on participation and self-improvement while considering individual differences and running experience. Good form, pacing, dynamic stretching, core strength, healthy eating and hydration are some of the concepts that will be incorporated with fun running activities. Runners are encouraged, but not required, to participate in any of the scheduled meets
Monday, August 26 at 4:00pm in the New Gym immediately following the first practice Please attend this brief meeting to learn all about the expectations of the season and how you can help out with volunteer opportunities!
All are encouraged to participate in the meets, but they are not mandatory. At least 4-5 meets will be scheduled. Meet schedule will be issued once the season starts. If a meet is scheduled on a Thursday, practice will not be held on that date.
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-4:00pm at OHES. In case of bad weather, practice will be moved in to the New Gym.
The season will start on Monday, August 26 and tentatively end on Thursday, October 10. There may be some adjustments to the meet schedule which would cause the end date to change.
Each runner will receive an OHES Run Club dri-fit shirt.

Starting April 26, 2013, the Ohio Department of Health requires parents and athletes to receive concussion information annually for each sport.
With your registration, you are agreeing that you have received this concussion information, which can be found HERE.
LINDSAY'S LAW (SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST)
In accordance with Lindsay’s Law, the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and other stakeholders jointly developed guidelines and other relevant materials to inform and educate students and youth athletes participating in or desiring to participate in an athletic activity, their parents, and their coaches about the nature and warning signs of sudden cardiac arrest.
