OHES Run Club Aug 24-Oct 12
The OHES Run Club program is designed to introduce running as a fun sport that promotes a healthy and fit lifestyle. The program will focus on participation and self-improvement while considering individual differences and running experience. Good form, pacing, stretching, core strength, healthy eating and hydration are some of the concepts that will be incorporated with fun running activities. Runners are encouraged, but not required, to participate in at least one mid-season meet and an end of season race.
Limited to the first 50 participants registered.
Practice: Thursday, August 24 – October 12
Mondays 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. OHES meet at New Gym bleachers). Note: No practice on September 4th.
Wednesdays 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Wildwood Metropark East Entrance, Ward Pavilion - all are welcome but children in grades 2-3 must have a parent run with them.
Thursdays 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. OHES meet at New Gym bleachers)
Parent Meeting: August 24 at 4:00 in the New Gym. Please attend to learn all about the expectations of the season and how you can help out with volunteer opportunities!

If there are any changes to the above schedule or if additional meets are added, you will be notified by email.

Registration costs include a team shirt. Runners are responsible for bringing their own snack and water bottle.
Parents are encouraged to volunteer regardless of running experience. Volunteer activities include assisting with warm up/cool down, running games, course monitoring and pacing (for those who enjoy running).
Starting April 26, 2013, the Ohio Department of Health requires parents and athletes to receive concussion information annually for each sport.

LINDSAY'S LAW (SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST)
In accordance with Lindsay’s Law, the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and other stakeholders jointly developed guidelines and other relevant materials to inform and educate students and youth athletes participating in or desiring to participate in an athletic activity, their parents, and their coaches about the nature and warning signs of sudden cardiac arrest.
