It starts with a responsive village management team, that is committed to providing residents with outstanding service. Residents are encouraged to consider the village administration a resource for solving problems of all sorts. It’s no wonder that year after year, residents rank nearly every municipal service outstanding.

Fire Department
The Ottawa Hills fire is operational 24/7 with 10 full-time firefighters including the fire chief. All are certified EMTs.

OHFD has eight paramedics on staff and new firefighters are required to have both paramedic and firefighting training. The department is equipped with an ambulance to transport patients to nearby hospitals.

Police Department
The Ottawa Hills Police Department has 15 full-time employees dedicated to preserving security, peace and quality of life. In partnership with the community, OHPD offers a number of free resident services including house checks, “Are You OK?” program, bicycle registration and a youth Explorer program.

Service Department
The Ottawa Hills Service Department is continually at work to deliver outstanding service to our residents. This talented full-time staff is responsible for weekly trash and recycling pickup, leaf pickup, ice and snow removal and maintenance of the roads, sewers and street lights.

In addition, the Service Department performs the general maintenance of village owned property, including landscaping and lawn care, seasonal flower plantings, and installation of flowering summertime hanging plants through the village.
