Part of what makes living in Ottawa Hills so attractive is the quality of services provided to residents. The Mayor and Council place a high priority on outstanding service, whether provided by Village employees or contractors. Residents are encouraged to consider the village administration a resource for solving problems of all sorts. Year after year residents rank municipal services as outstanding.
The Ottawa Hills Police Department has 14 full-time employees and several part time employees dedicated to preserving security, peace and quality of life. In partnership with the community, the Police Department offers a number of free resident services including house checks and bicycle registration, in addition to normal police functions.
The Ottawa Hills Service Department is continually at work to deliver outstanding service to our residents. This talented full-time staff is responsible for weekly trash and recycling pickup, leaf pickup, ice and snow removal and maintenance of the roads, sewers and street lights. Ther Service Department also manages the care of village owned property and installs and cares for flowering hanging baskets throughout the Village.
Emergency Medical & Fire Services
Fire and Emergency Medical Services in the Village of Ottawa Hills provided by the City of Toledo which has one of the very few Nationally Accredited Fire Departments in the state of Ohio. Toledo Firefighters and Emergency Medical Personnel are stationed in the Ottawa Hills Municipal Building under a unique and very successful arrangement.
